Increasing demand for digital healthcare systems required stronger network infrastructure. Connectivity upgrades and shared network arrangements improved reliability and allowed staff to access systems more efficiently across hospitals and community locations.
The Challenge
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board employs almost 12,000 staff and operates across more than 60 healthcare sites. Staff rely heavily on digital systems to deliver healthcare services and manage operational processes. Increasing demand for connectivity placed pressure on the organisation’s existing network infrastructure.
Reliable connectivity was required to support both clinical and administrative functions. Improving access to systems across hospitals and community sites therefore became a priority.
The Solution
We implemented a range of connectivity improvements across the health board’s network. This included upgrading network infrastructure and improving connectivity at multiple locations. The Multiple Occupancy Site Service (MOSS) was introduced so organisations at the same location could share a single connection to the PSBA network.
Dedicated home connections were also installed for radiologists working with large imaging files. Additional support was provided for upgrading wireless infrastructure and data centre equipment to improve network performance.
