Borderbrook School

Fibre to the Premises connectivity increased speeds by up to 150 times. Teachers and pupils can now use online learning platforms and digital educational resources more effectively.

The Challenge

Borderbrook Primary School previously had a broadband connection of only 0.5 Mbps. The slow connection made it difficult for teachers to use online resources in lessons. Even basic tasks such as sending emails with attachments were difficult.

Pupils were unable to access digital learning tools effectively. The school required faster connectivity to support digital education.

The Solution

We implemented a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) solution at the school. Download speeds increased to 80 Mbps, around 150 times faster than the previous connection. This allows teachers and pupils to access online learning resources more effectively.

The school can now make use of Welsh Government’s Hwb digital learning platform. Improved connectivity also supports the use of tablets and other classroom technology.

Sector: Education
Problem: Security and Reliability
Solution: Public Access Wi-Fi Service
Outcome: Strengthened Security

Borderbrook was two years behind other schools in terms of online learning. FTTP has changed everything. The children’s learning experience has improved immensely.
