The Challenge

Aberystwyth University required a cost-effective and reliable replacement for its previous guest Wi-Fi solution. The university operates across two campuses and hosts thousands of visitors each year attending conferences, events and research activities. Providing internet access for these visitors was essential while ensuring that corporate systems remained protected. 

The university needed a solution capable of supporting high demand without compromising security. Ensuring that sensitive information and internal systems were protected from public network access was also a key requirement.

The Solution

We implemented our Public Access Wi-Fi service across the university’s campuses to provide secure internet access for students, staff and visitors. The service separates the public network from the university’s corporate network, strengthening security controls. This separation ensures that confidential data and internal systems remain protected. 

The network provides reliable connectivity for large numbers of users accessing online resources across campus. Because the service is fully managed by PSBA, the university’s IT team no longer needs to manage guest network infrastructure directly.
