The challenge

Over the years, the demand on organisations such as Grŵp Cynefin have intensified. Technology is evolving quickly and Grŵp Cynefin needed a reliable supported network to ensure connectivity between its staff.


The solution

When looking for a solution, Grŵp Cynefin evaluated different options from various providers, but decided to use PSBA’s services as the core to its network. Through its partnership with PSBA, Grŵp Cynefin has now connected most of its sites via the PSBA network. The organisation now gets a fixed, fast, resilient connection. This has enabled its IT staff to concentrate on other aspects of the business knowing that the network connectivity is managed for them.

Grŵp Cynefin has also moved its voice services onto a data platform. The legacy system has been replaced with a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) solution. This has meant large cost savings as the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) lines have been eradicated.

PSBA provides a fully managed service from order to “in-life”. The service has freed up the IT team from dealing with network faults and issues. By making the IT team more productive and tackling issues before they escalate, the PSBA solution has helped Grŵp Cynefin manage its estate more effectively and reduced cost.

The employees are happy too! The reliable network has made it easier to get things done. It has meant a reduction in travel time and an increase in collaboration as people can catch up with team members based in other offices via video conference and Skype. This has meant that Grŵp Cynefin’s resources can be focused on where they are needed most.

Grŵp Cynefin now plans to expand its online services. A contractor portal is now operational, and there are plans for a rollout of a tenant portal. Fast, reliable and secure connectivity will be essential to deliver these through its partnership with PSBA.

Providing tenants and contractors with new ways to interact with them and access information and services will reduce the demand on the contact centre and improve its quality of service.

I must admit I was sceptical about moving onto PSBA as it seemed too good to be true. The price was lower than our existing provider, yet we would be getting increased guaranteed bandwidth with a far superior service level agreement. I needn’t have worried! It was undoubtedly a positive move. It has allowed me to grow technology and invest elsewhere.
